January 17, 2017, 10:34 am This is a genuine call from O2 but like all Sales Calls the caller will use slick methods to get you to change from your present service provider. I engaged in conversation with the caller and gave him details of my present SIM only package which he could not match even with a 30% discount they were offering for a "short period only". The caller who was definitely of Irish extraction was very polite and thanked me for my time and for taking the call which he then ended without the need for me to become agitated. February 2, 2017, 4:34 pm I googled this number before ringing it back, and noticed a whole load of people commented that this number was/is a scam. Using my initiative, I rang it back out of curiosity and was surprised to find that it is genuinely NOT a scam. The guy who took my call (not the decidedly dodgy 'Liam' from Ireland...) was a Mancunian, and took great offence when I told him I'd read about that number being a scam. It is nothing more than a modern method of acquiring new business, and in this era of internet technology O2 are using new means of drumming up business. Stop being so paranoid, and instead of believing everything you read, why don't you find out for yourself. Caller Company: O2 Caller Type: Telemarketer |
