June 18, 2014, 5:50 pm Do not answer the calls from 0161 861 4000 ; Do not give out your name, address or any other personal details. They are HYC = Help Your Claim Ltd at Deansgate Manchester M3 2ER . They are cold calling you to sell you a PPI claim pack contract. You can do this for free yourself with the FOS and if you can not fill the paperwork out the FOS will help you, all for free. All this company is doing is filling in a FOS form in your name and address and taking a cut of the winnings. The keep saying they are not selling anything, but under the distance selling they are cold calling and selling a free service for money. Ask them where did they get your phone number from. Tell them under the Communications Act 2003 to stop calling you, at if do again that this constitutes harassment. When I asked her to remove it from the database, she rudely asked "why do you want me to remove you from the database without knowing what I'm going to tell you?". December 4, 2014, 1:49 pm Got a call from these muppets on my daughter's phone. (She's out at school, so I answered) Stated was from "HYC" following up on my claim. He then launched into his PPI speil, expecting me to fall for it. I interupted with questions about how he got the number. Other than "It's on the database" he wouldn't / couldn't answer. When I explained that this was the phone of a young child, he tried telling me that if the phone is registered in my name then it'll be me they want to talk to. Somehow she knew my name which was quite concerning, I said I was part of the TPS and she said she'd wipe my information from the system - whether or not it's true, I am unsure! January 19, 2015, 3:25 pm Just had a call saying even though I had a PPI claim refused they would would transfer me to the bank PPI concerned and if I asked them for my acct nos and say for PPI query only they would listen in to conversation and take my call back and proceed another claim. Frightening thing they had other PPI info about me and could tell me if I had claims successful or not. Got thro and a foreign gentleman in line couldn't hear me. I was polite at first but after saying repeatedly 'm not interested',the girl got very uppity and talked over me all the time. She was asking personal questions and when I refeused to answer she got angry. I told her I was in a public place and not prepared to listen to her,she was shouting over me all the time. I politely asked her to be removed from their list, she again said about the PPI, I asked to be removed 6 times and each time she told me about the PPI I could be owed. I ended up hanging up on her, it was like talking to a dumb incredibly happy and chirpy robot that would not take no for answer. I understand that these people are doing their jobs, but to have to ask more than once to be removed in my opinion is bad. I would like to know the name of this company and how they got my details. I suspect some of the numbers are dialled randomly as you get an automated message at the start saying the call could not be connected and then, when an operative becomes available, you are connected to the sales spiel! I googled the number while in the call and found this page and after wasting his time for a while saying I've never had PPI as I'm too tight fisted to take out such insurance, I then hung up as it was obvious he was going to start asking for name and address details which I certainly would not give to an unsolicited caller. February 13, 2015, 12:03 pm I got rudely awoken by these clowns at 8:20 this morning, i answered the phone and this loud woman on the other end of it was pretty much screaming down the phone (as the background noise was very loud and busy) she was incredibly pushy and had an aggressive sales pitch. Would just like to point this out for a bit of balance. They got no fee from me but worked hard. I don't have time to track stuff from 20 years ago myself. February 27, 2015, 4:33 pm My mobile rang at around 16:15hrs. I didn't recognize 0161 861 4000 number and foolishly answered the call. Very agressive male on the other end, pushing PPI. Told him he had no business calling me, and told him he will up in court if he calls again. This really annoyed him and I let him rant for a while (I having meanwhile put the phone down). So the only people who could have passed on my number is Orange or EE or what ever they call themselves today. I asked the chap how he got my number and was told through random dialing. Then took some convincing to tell him I had no morgage, credit cards or loans. He was very insistant and took a bit of getting rid of. They called on a business mobile so I answered with my typical "hello your through to etc." thankfully this put them off as they hung..... I feel bad for their call centre agents though, they must make sales or lose their jobs and most businesses like this provide 0 hour contracts and 2 year probation periods like Ventrica or Converso. These call centeres should be referred to as "Slum Employers" exploiting the current employment problems.... March 11, 2015, 6:18 pm Just received a call from this number. Asked me about PPI and if I knew what's been going on recently with the banks and if I've had any dealings with the banks recently. I told him Barclays was my bank and he went on to ask if I have any loans, credit cards, or mortgages and I said no. He went on to say if I've paid them all of and as soon as I replied saying I don't even have a mortgage he hung up on me!! April 1, 2015, 2:50 pm I wonder how come I have suddenly appeared on the cold caller list... I am deaf, I use the phone only to access the internet.. No phone calls, no text messages etc. To my knowledge no one has my number, apart from the service provider. I do not know my own number, I have not used the number since the day I bought the phone.
