I love it when these guys call, makes my day. Today I was called by Richard who spoke in a very strong Indian accent. I generally just tell then to go forth etc. but occasionally I muster the energy to see how long I can keep them going. I play completely 'novice' but use several Mac computers at home. It is when I am asked to hit the Windows four flags key that the fun starts as Richard tries to explain where the key can be found - next to the control key of course. I look all over the keyboard, but cannot find a button with 'control' on it. Eventually Richard says that it should be 'ctrl'. This of course I find and 'hit'. Richard is getting frustrated - "no! not ctrl key, but four flags key!!!" - Me, lots of "oh dears" and the occasional "deary me" - what was that key again? cprt - or what was it? I'll try to find it again. I hit the keys C,T,R and L quite loudly so Richard can hear activity. He is getting really impatient now. I tell him to calm down, but that is instructions are not clear. We establish that there is no 'four flags' key on my keyboard. Richard directs me to look at the screen instead for the cloured 'four flags' symbol bottom left and to click on it with the mouse. I tell him for the umpteenth time that there is no 'four flags' anywhere to be found. Richard is starting to tell me I am useless, stupid and do not know how to use a PC, so I tell him that there are no four flags, but there is square light and dark blue face instead - so he was quite right, I don't know how to use a PC as I am using a Mac. Richard tells me to go forth and asks if I know what F*CK means he then hangs up - 23 minutes! :-) Oh deary deary me.....

I have received a call from this number at 09:42 today . I answered it as it was from a UK number that was displayed and spoke to a man with a strong Indian accent claiming to be from AskPC experts, an authorised Microsoft repair company. He stated that my pc had been sending error messages to Microsoft for days and that hackers had access to my details. He said that Microsoft themselves never call customers (as we know) that was why I was receiving a call from them. Requested that I turn on my computer in order that he could show me dates and times of the hacking. I knew this was a scam so I told him I couldn't switch it on right now. he said he would wait for me to get to the computer, I said I couldn't as it was not here, he insisted he would wait till I got to it. I lied and told him 3 times it was away being repaired so it can't have problems on it as he had said. He asked when it would be back so he could ring again, I told him I didn't know and then he hung up. TPS has no effect on these people.

I suspect this man has an accent from Indonesia and I also think this is where his base is and from where he contacts people in the UK. Although he has a heavy 'Indian' accent, the way he pronounces the word computer sounds incredibly Dutch.
Have reported him to several authorities.

Call from this number came at 22.11 last evening. The Indian voice told me that Microsoft were being 'inundated' with virus messages from my computer. So I asked him 'which one.... I have lots of computers', he said it was 'the one I use most'. At that point I knew it was a scam. I asked him how he got my number and he said that my wife had given it to him. I laughed at him and he rang off. But how did he get my number? It is a new one only generated about 4 weeks ago!

Guy with strong Indian accent called at 5.20 today claiming to be from Microsoft Tech services, When asked said he was Izaac Shoeman form Microsoft, at Thames Valley Park, Reading. He kept trying to convince me he was genuine and that my computer had several viruses and proceeded to give me his ID number 'so I'd know he was for real' ha, ha. He also quoted my Customer Licence Security I D number to further prove he was really from Microsoft when I'd told it was a scam. I put the phone down in the end.

Had a call this morning at 8.35 strong Indian accent saying he's from Microsoft and that my pc has a virus and he will try to fix it remotely when I asked him where he got my number from he said I'd reported the fault, so I asked him to give me his number and I would call him back... He hesitated and started with 020 then asked why I wanted the number and I said because I don't have a computer and I want to check who you are, with that he said is that Mrs Clarke, to which I said I've had this number for 3 years and I am nor Mrs Clarke then he hung up and I did 1471 and got the above number, I'm sure if I'd have been elderly he would have succeeded in his scam So please all of you out there BEWAREy

Got this one tonight. Dave the Pakistani Indian from 'Microsoft' ready to cure my computer woes with his toolbox of impatience, arrogance and illiteracy. Good news! Wasted 20 minutes of his time playing a long with my phantom computer pushing back gradually until he put his pimp...er'...'supervisor', Peter on. He lasted maybe 20 seconds before launching into a threatening rant - complete with pauses as he tried to figure out what to say next - about how it was 19:30 just now and by 20:30 the Police would smash my door down because I was a terrorist plotting to detonate a bomb at Heathrow...and he could prove it because he was going to plant evidence on my computer.

Unable to stiffel my laugher at this point I errupted, thanked him for making my day and muted the mic on the phone. There was a further 8-10 seconds of unintelligible shouting - probably at minion Dave for wasting 20minutes of precious scamming time - before they disconnected. People pay good money to be entertained when all they need to do is pick up the occasional unknown phone call and get it all on someone elses pound.

Pretty much the same scam call as everyone else. Having had two calls yesterday (June 10th) and checked it out, I answered the call today and went along with it for about 15 minutes before I told the caller (Asian) that it was a scam and hung up. I suspect that the calls are from outside of the UK. It's easy to spoof a phone number as a call to the number 01642-878714 does not work. Unfortunately, TPS or ICO cannot do anything about these calls if they are from outside the country.

Sick to death if these calls. They even manage to bypass my blocker as they seem to use a UK code although it weirdly came up as international which is blocked! Will now block specific number and hope that works. These calls are bad enough at the best of times but the person is always highly abusive when you call their bluff and one called me a bitch for saying I didn't want the service. Had a call from this number today.I think we've been called from it everyday over the last few days.Today though,I decided to check out the number and told the persistent Asian man trying to scam me, my husband would contact him when he gets home and to contact me or him by email(at which point he said he couldn't because he didn't have the email address,I DIDN'T GIVE IT to him and said ,surely if you're from Microsoft you would know this.

He started to get very impatient warning me Microsoft are going to turn my computer off very soon.I said my husband will get in touch and to give me the number. He said he couldn't.I told him to phone back later and if this genuine we'll sort it out.He didn't like this, started talking faster and his accent became stronger. If he calls back later or any other time,I will tell him I have reported THIS SCAM to action fraud, which I have and will report it every time they call this number with the crime reference number they have given me.SO IF YOU ARE TEMPTED TO CALL US AGAIN TAKE THIS AS A WARNING,THE FRAUD SQUAD ARE ONTO YOU!

Just had a call from this knob head with a foreign accent. He said he was calling from Microsoft regarding errors with my computer. I said it was working fine actually. He asked if it was switched on and if not for me to go and switch it on. I asked if he had my IP address for authenticity. He said he had my licence number and would cancel it so I could not use the computer again. I said maybe he would prefer to speak to my husband who was a detective with the fraud squad. He hung up. I dialled the number that came up and it does not exist. I am wise to this scam now but there are probably many people who are not and will be scammed by the b******s.
