Windows virus tech scam. They want to hack your pc with spyware to watch you use your credit card online and steal all your personal information. They will try to fool you with common windows errors as the reason why a problem exists.

Don't be fooled, hang up.

Had five calls from this number in the last two days - two yesterday and three this morning I am aware this is a scam and have had calls in the past but never asked them for their number before. I was being as obstructive as possible if I am honest as I am really annoyed that you can receive calls like this from such rude and aggresive people (maybe its best to just put the phone down)
They don't seem to take no for an answer and pass you on to line managers, you are given long numbers that are supposed to be your ID number by people who are even more aggresive. I was told I that the call was being recorded and as I was not taking this matter seriously "she" would have to cut my computer access. These calls need to be stopped if you are elderly or vunerable and don't understand computers and scams they can be very convincing whilst probably hacking into your computer Beware!!!!

Told me to go to www.support.me and use a log in to clear the so called problem I had with my computer. By this time the wife had woken up and the dog wanted to go for a walk. I asked him if he liked travel, to which he said yes, so I told him to piss off.

I had a call from a certain Joseph Matthews (strange name for someone with a heavy Indian accent) calling from 020-3286-9239. Despite the London number he claimed to be a Microsoft technician at 207 Melton Rd. Leicester.

I knew immediately it was a scam and, as I%u2019m familiar with the event viewer, played along for a while out of interest. But he became suspicious and hung up. Unfortunately less savvy computer users could easily fall victim to this con-trick.

Getting a lot of phone calls from this number for a couple of weeks now, one early this morning about 8.45am. They have called twice since and when I picked up the phone the third time but never spoke, I could hear background noise but they then hung up. Very frustrating since this kind of phone number shouldn't be calling us in Northern Ireland. Go away!

Received a phone call from 'Microsoft Support Team' on 020 3286 9239 regarding a piece of software on my PC that allows Microsoft to monitor windows 8, stressed that I had not consented to this, but was assured it was legal and it was a Microsoft license, and that a senior engineer, by the name of Shane Peterson) would help me resolve the issues and get my PC working again. I had not noticed anything wrong with the PC no lagging of any kind or anything, but the Eventvwr was showing a shocking amount of errors, and I was told it was viruses from the internet attacking my program files but the Antivirus would not be able to detect them, and that they would be able to remove the problems without losing my files. Anyway I moved away from my PC and returned to it a few minutes later, still on the phone to who I believed were Microsoft at the time, to find that the PC was being controlled remotely and Advanced Windows Care v2 was being installed. That set alarm bells off so used the details I had taken down previously and did a google search, I found info on this site regarding these fraudsters. I disconnected the PC from the internet and turned the PC off to stop any more of my info being transmitted to them. They just laughed at me and said 'check your computer' when I confronted them about the online complaints. It was too late, they had encrypted the hard drive so when the computer booted up you couldn't do anything. I asked them for the password and it was either a case if letting them proceed to 'clean-up' the so called errors or pay £50 for the password. I hung up the phone, but the continued to call back, threatening to also block my iPhone if I did not go through with either of their requests. I contacted PC World's KnowHow help desk who got my computer up and running again within a couple of hours, restore to factory settings, yes you will loose everything on the hard drive but you lost it all the minute they took control of your PC!

Scammers from "PC Experts" then they said they were from "Microsoft Technical Department". It is a complete con, do not talk to them, but the longer you keep them on the phone and humour them, it will stop them calling someone else who is less knowledgeable and getting scammed.

My 71 year old mum was fooled by these scum. They told her to open her computer and give them a code they had entered onto their website. They attempted to extort £280 from her and control her laptop. Her neighbour is a Police Scotland Detective and all the details have been reported, so maybe we can hit back.

I'm not easily duped but because they woke me up and I was a bit confused and it sounded official (Microsoft supposedly) even though I should have known by the Asian accent I went along and went into the event viewer that I wasn't familiar with(but am now thanks to them :)

He then told me to type in www.healfast.net and click on technician 1 or 3 I started to get worried and said to give me his number and would call them back to verify, which is when he got irate and said my computer was corrupted and I would be blocked so I switched it off and hung up. spoke to a computer savvy friend who said it was a scam and I am now angry that I even fell for it. Something needs to be done about this!!

Best to say you don't own a computer. I feel sorry for the elderly who will be duped.

They are still at it and very plausible. I took their call, third this week, went to my pc and disconnected wireless. I kept on raising doubts and finally he asked me to connect to internet. I again said I was suspicious. So he said call me on the 0203 number from my mobile. Took opportunity to google number and found this site. Thank goodness. BEWARE. They trade on thd fact that most of us don't know how pcs work.

It looks like this scam has started up again as the posts above are in 2014. I received a call from "Microsoft" about people getting into my computer and was given an address as: West Building, 100 Victoria Street, London. SW13 5JN, tel: 02032869239, but I was called on number 01146345703. I was luck as I did a search on the London number on Bing and saw that it was a scam. I hope these people, if you can call them that, are stopped.

Received a phone call from a very Asian sounding "Patrick Williams" from "Microsoft" claiming someone was trying to hack into my computer. He asked if my computer was switched on. Sensing this was a scam I told him no and that I did not know how to use a computer and that I leave that to my daughter who was in work. I asked for his t/number and she would ring him back. He was very insistent that she telephone back by 4.30 !! - no chance
