The correct name of the department ends in 'Change' not Control. Trying to bamboozle people into thinking they are legit when they most certainly are not. November 12, 2014, 9:51 pm I received a call fom this number, but didn't answer. I have also had an email a few days prior saying that a company called CMA were using a company called GfK to conduct research on gas & electric companies, and that they'd written to my energy provider to get my details, using their legal powers. February 28, 2015, 7:45 pm Those creeps posing as CMA rang but I don't pick up unknown calls -- thanks to this website I checked the number and see others are getting these scam calls. I had one of their letters first. If CMA exists as a government agency then they had better find out where the scammers are because they are fraudulently using the real phone number on their bogus letters. My bank says they'd never give out my details. Like the others my full name appeared on the letter. Who is selling our details, names, phone numbers? Police need to investigate. Said the banks had handed over thousands of phonenumbers due to goverment policy and mine was picked at random. Said even i fi had opted out of receiveing marketing teh bank have to give my number to them,. Also I am registered with the people who are supposed to prevent these calls or the caller gets fined £2000. I told them to call me back later, and then I blocked their number. May 3, 2015, 5:41 pm Got a call from this number at 17.30 today (Sunday!) and the female said she was calling from GFK regarding a financial survey. As she paused her prepared speech to take a breath I quickly said I wasn't interested, apologised and ended the call. Like many others on here I am ex-directory and registered with the TPS. If that doesn't prevent market research calls (as per their pasted statement above)then it flippin' well OUGHT TO! May 15, 2015, 3:00 pm I have given up answering my BT landline leaving the answer phone on, hearing the sad news yesterday about the lovely 92 year old lady who had enough. My phone has just been ringing again from the above number ! Can this abuse not be stopped. I even get txt messages and calls to my mobile which I depend on for contact with family being housebound.

May 26, 2015, 6:47 pm I received a call on my mobile at around 6:30pm on Tue 26th May from a young, London-accented female claiming to be from GFK, and was conducting a survey on the EU Commission ... I stopped her spiel to ask her where she got my number from (I only disclose it to a select few) and she said it was randomly generated, ie taken from a 'phone book' (though I'm not in any phone book) and the last two digits reversed. The guy asked straight away if I was driving or if I was in a vehicle and his call was putting me in a dangerous situation, without even introducing himself. I asked him to say that again because I really didn't get what he wanted actually to know. He just repeated the same sentence, I asked who he was and where did they get my number from and with a very annoyed tone he said that was doing a market research and again asked if I his call was putting me in a dangerous situation. I replied it was correct and the call was then stopped, so I don't have any idea how they got my number or what they wanted. But calls like this, on a Sunday morning, are a bit spooky!!
