Immediately said I wasn't interested when she said all I had to do was confirm a few details! She was very persuasive, trying to tell me she wasn't trying to sell me anything etc but I was assertive in stating that I wasn't interested before hanging up. December 15, 2014, 3:44 pm I just had a call from this number. Stupidly, as I've entered a few online competitions over the months, I thought it was okay. She asked me to confirm my email address (it was an old one that I only use for junk type stuff) and then asked me to confirm my mobile network, which stupidly once again, I did. She then asked if third parties could contact me and I said no and then she said thanks and hung up. I feel ridiculously stupid now and I will be deleting my email account. December 16, 2014, 1:10 pm This number phone me twice yesterday to say I had won in a competition from entering my details on their website - 'prize uk'. I said I never heard of them and asked them not to call again. They phoned again today making the same claim. I then said 'I spoke to you yesterday' which the lady denied. I told her not to contact me again and if they phone me again I will contact police. Lets hope that worked. They ask for personal details so they can put you on a mailing list. January 29, 2015, 12:38 pm Had this call today saying I hadn't won a competition but was entering me into a prize draw for £500 they confirmed my email address and said they believe I have a phone contract with orange. I said I do. They then went on to tell me about O2 having an offer to which I said I wanted to end the phone call as I didn't believe them. The guy then said he would just give me the information so I could keep for my records. I said ok. He then thanked me and said that's all he needed and out the phone down. I said I haven't entered any competitions and she said 'Yes you have' then asked if I am still with O2 as my phone provider. I answered the question and then she told me what my email address was!! She said I have entered it online before on their website and that is how she knew it. She got it right too! Although I did not confirm that it was correct. I don't recall doing any on this. April 7, 2015, 11:56 am Had a call saying I entered a competition a long time ago for something and I'd won 500 pounds, I do enter competitions she told me my email, I said I no longer use that email and don't check it as I have others to use. She then asked if I wanted a better mobile phone deal. I'd just lied to her about not being on a contract, I told her I was a pay as you go customer. Hopefully I've covered myself. Didn't remember entering it but I do occasionally enter these things so continued. Told me my email address and got my to confirm it and then confirmed who my phone contract was with. May 26, 2015, 9:03 pm An English speaking lady told me I had won £500 in boots vouchers and i explained that I do by shop at boots, she knew my name, phone number and phone network which I refused to confirm. She was polite but why would any one need to know those details. I said if she wished to contact me I would like her to do so in writing which she has failed to. June 25, 2015, 7:03 pm Received two phone calls from this company uk prizes asking for my wife and gave her e-mail address, it's was from foreign sounding make about 1730 on 24 June 2015, stating my wife had won a prize of £500, in a completion which she had entered on line, which she hadn't. Asked me for my phone provider,, which was declined and put the phone down. Received another call at 1850 on 25 June this time from Indian sounding woman offering same info. Again declined. September 3, 2015, 1:21 pm I was contacted by them twice. Once today and once yesterday. They claimed that they were from prize UK and that I had entered a competition in April in 2014 and was being put in to a prize draw for £500, and that further details would be sent to my email address. I have never heard of the website they were referring to, that they claimed they were representing. They obviously knew my mobile number, also my name, email address and what network provider I had a mobile contract with. Upon declining their supposed entry in to a prize draw, they then proceeded to talk about and promote vodafone, at which point I quickly nipped the conversation in the bud and told them to remove my details from their database and then I hung up. One more call from them and I will be contacting my network provider about this. Clearly they are selling on their customers details to third party scammers. They proceeded to ask what mobile provider I was with, I said "I don't see how that's relevant", she then asked about phone contracts. I refused to give any details and said you can email me what you were going to, there no point in this call. She stated that VODAPHONE have great deals an you may get a call from them. Similar to other stories above, I was told that I had entered an online competition (which is possible as I do sometimes) and that I was in with a chance of winning £500. She told me my email address and phone provider (o2) which I confirmed believing that they couldn't possibly scam me with this information (probably very naive of me). She said she would email some sort of confirmation but this never happened. I don't know what the purpose of the call was, I'm hoping it was just to sell me o2 if I didn't have it. She then asked if my phone was on contract or pay as you go. I asked why she wanted these details and she said to confirm it's my number. I asked if she was trying to sell me anything and she said no. She said she'd put not willing to answer. She then asked if I would be interested in a new phone and if there are any phones I liked. They said I'd entered a competition to win a VW camper van, which I do vaguely remember doing in 2014! She said I'd been entered into a £500 prize draw after not winning the VW. She then asked for me to confirm my email address, and said id be sent a confimation email for the competition. She knew what phone provider I was with. She asked if I'd be interested on a new handset or tablet, I said no. She then went on to ask if I minded if she handed over my details to third party companies to which I said NO! July 21, 2016, 1:56 pm received a call on my mobile recently from a South East Asian woman to say that my ex-partner had won a £500 Boots voucher and wanted to confirm her e-mail address and a phone number to contact her on. I was immediately suspicious as I had received a similar call on the same subject a while ago. I said I had no e-mail address or phone number to contact my ex-partner with and ended the call.
