This is a scam virus, which embeds on your computer, pretending to be Microsoft support. If you phone the number, they ays they are 'Windows Technical Support' and will ask you for money to clear the attack on your computer, effectively taking your computer hostage and demanding a ransom.

my browser got hijacked by a malware alert, asking me to call this number. I did, and the customer care agent (Indian) gave me some instructions to follow. I was on alert when it got to the point of asking me to download a link. I could overhear lots of Indian voices on the background answering similar calls.
Lucky that escaped unscathed.

As above (Laura Nov 22nd) - exactly the same thing happened to me. Stupidly I gave him remote access via LogMeIn and when he started asking for £330 to fix it alarm bells started going off! When I did some googling of the number and realised it was a scam I rang them back and told them what I thought! I have also reported the incident to LogMeIn....zzzz feel a bit silly...

Same as others. Pop-up on dodgy site said my computer had been blocked and needed to phone number to get it unblocked. Phoned number several times and told them the most vilest things I could think of. Didn't seem to use up much credit so I would advise others to do the same.

Some geezer spoke to us after calling this number and he said he needed remote access to my computer but I didn't know much about computers so I let him, soon after he said he was gonna have to charge up to £400 - £500 so obviously I got concerned but knowing he had remote access to my computer I got very cautious so what I did was unplug all gaming systems and turn off all wifi to phones me then called my network provider so let's see what happens next!

It came up on my computer this evening. A screen that looked like the Microsoft store, telling me the number to ring. Also a plain typewritten page saying my computer had been blocked, and I should call the number so that a technician could talk me through the problem. It said if I didn't call in the next five minutes I'd be even more blocked.
I didn't call. Eventually I noticed at the foot of the plain page a button saying something like "Finish". I clicked that, the false screen disappeared, and so far everything has been back to normal. I don't know if that button was there all the time, or came up after more than five minutes had passed.
We had something similar two years ago. On that occasion the perpetrators wanted to install a program called Doctor Ratchet, which is an Indian antivirus program. I don't know how it compares to better-known products.

As above got an unusual pop up message saying computer will disable in 5 mins and diverted me to fake Microsoft page with toll free number. I initially rang them but hung up before connecting after which they immediately called me back and as soon as I heard he was Indian (no offence intended here) I knew it was a scam and told him where to get off. I just found it alarming as I had literally just paid for something online.

Don't even bother ringing the number, just close the page down or switch off your computer and report the number and experience on as many sites as you can and keep everyone informed, my friend got scammed not so long ago. Would love to be locked in a room with these idiots and go all MMA on them.

Was on a shoe website and this message popped up saying that my computer is blocked it has been hacked or something like that. Anyway I rang the number and the man down the line said to put a adult on as I am only a minor. I found this weird as I was the owner of the laptop and I purchased it. Anyway once I wouldn't put a adult on he said fucking English cunt. Then that obviously sent alarm bells ringing so in a moment of anger I rang back and done what anyone would do, give him a piece of my mind then he had the check to say all calls are recorded sir I will be passing this onto the police. Trying to make me out to be the criminal and he then went on to say he has my IP address and he will d toss me. While I was still shouting abuse at him he hung up and I tried ringing back but my number was blocked so yea people the world is full of sick, cruel and ignorant people be aware !!

I got the same message as above over and over on my computer. I phoned the number and all I got was an Asian woman I asked who she was and all she would say was support etc. I asked which company she worked for and all she said was support. Luckily I am a science computer freak and as she wouldn't tell me the company I just said ok and put the phone down. I am going t let everyone I know not to fall for this on.

This is a scam, this popped up on my computer and I'm only a young internet browser so I immediately panicked. I rang the number that was given to me on the page (which looked like the Microsoft corporation page). An Indian man answered and he started asking about my computer and asked for the error code displayed on the page. I hung up immediately and just shut down my computer. Everything is working well. If you get this message just shut down don't bother ringing the number

Yes this happened to me just now. So anyway I saw this message on my computer screen alerting me to ring this number. I was very hesitant as I was unsure, but I called them and an Indian man answers the phone.

I asked what does this message mean? he questioned what I was doing before it came up, and I replied watching a movie. Then he said he will need to gain access to my computer to help me to resolve the problem.

At this point I had a bad feeling and said I do not feel comfortable doing this, and asking multiple questions about who they are etc. He advised that it is my choice, but in order to resolve the problem he will need to gain access. Anyway, I hang up but was thinking about it so I rang back the number, and it was the same man who answered the phone, so I asked if he is the only person who works in the office? he replied no.... then he said so what do I want. I said this is no way to speak to a customer, then he said I must not waste his time and hang up the phone so I knew that it was a scam because nobody who works in customer service really speaks to customers like this.

All I can say is I am glad that I followed my mind by NOT letting them gain access to my computer they can FUCK OFF!!!!!

I called the number and quoted the error number on my screen.. I pretty much did everything thing they asked, even run a program where they controlled my laptop. It was at this point I decided to google the number and behold I found this page. They ask me to not switch my computer off for 50-70 minutes while they were apparently removing malware/viruses. I told them I'm not leaving my computer running for the next hour. After that the guy hang up. I'm not sure whether I should still be worried or not as they've got my name, phone number and email.
