December 17, 2015, 7:37 pm Yet another. Yes another victim of the very persistent Hampton Rea. £495 lighter. David Edwards was my point of contact way back last January. Still no return of my money. Just had a very abusive phone call from a man named John who claims to own the business. Have now got Lloyds involved and reported the call to the police. Here's hoping that Lloyds are successful. February 9, 2016, 6:58 pm Hampton Rae yet again ,was pestered for weeks until I agreed to let them look into my ppi claim ,what a fool I have been nearly a year on with no results ,only £495 lighter in my pocket .As for Mr David Edwards one ignorant pratt who will get whats coming to him soon,I will go the legal way first through the claims management regulation, failing that a visit is called for I think . June 8, 2016, 10:22 am I paid for this last year May 2015 - Nothing to date - I have contacted my credit card company, who are now in dispute with them. It has been on hold now since last October. I was asked to give it a resonable amount of time and I also returned all of the documents they sent me quickly - personally I think they just keep sending the forms to delay the process - as most of them were asking for my previous address, which i had given them on numerous occasions. If you paid via a card - please contact your card provider asap and give them all the details. This appears to be one very large scam and your card provider should be able to help you - mine has been very helpful and I hope to have this resolved in the next few months. Demand your money back, don't let them fob you off, go to the legal ombudsman or better still, go to your credit card provider and get a refund, tell them that Hampton Rae have not provided the service promised, and as per section 75 of the consumer credit act, you want the money put back on your card. September 26, 2016, 5:00 pm I too have been scammed by Hampton rea. Last September 2015 a very smooth talking Kieran rang who had a lot of my financial history saying I had paid PPI and needed £499 to start my claim. He was very convicing and said I could use my overdraft but I only had a £200 overdraft. So he said he would take £399 from another account I had that only had £400 in it. It's nearly a year now and I have not heard from them. I have tried ringing a few times but only get abuse when I wanted to cancel and they were going to sue me. September 27, 2016, 10:06 am BEWARE : hampton rae contacted me Dec 15 on the following number 0844 3182938 by someone called Fern then i was passed to an Alex. just like all of the above he asked for an upfront fee of £495 & they sounded so convincing with all their finance talk. I too have been duped & they have been promising since this June to give me refund. everytime i call its some excuse after another why the refund has not been sent. today i called again & now the phone number just rings without anyone picking it up. The thing i noticed each time was the ring tone was the same as when calling abroad & i should have twigged but didnt.
